Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DBView ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Software.

License

DBView grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Download and install the Software on devices you own or control
  • Use the Software for personal or commercial database management purposes
  • Make copies of the Software for backup purposes

You may not:

  • Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the Software
  • Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the Software for any illegal purposes

Description of Service

DBView is a desktop database client application that allows users to:

  • Connect to MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MongoDB databases
  • Write and execute SQL queries and MongoDB operations
  • Visualize database schemas and relationships
  • Save and organize queries and workbooks
  • Export query results and database schemas
  • Optionally sync data across devices using Google Drive

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your database credentials
  • Ensuring you have authorization to access any databases you connect to
  • Backing up your data and queries
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Any actions taken through the Software using your credentials

Third-Party Services

Google Drive Integration

If you choose to use the Google Drive Sync feature, you authorize DBView to access a dedicated application folder in your Google Drive. Your use of Google Drive is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

AI Services

The AI Assistant feature connects to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) using your own API keys. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions.

Database Connections

DBView connects directly to database servers you specify. You are responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization to access these databases and that your use complies with the database provider's terms of service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

DBView does not guarantee that the Software will:

  • Be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Meet your specific requirements
  • Be compatible with all database versions or configurations
  • Not cause any data loss or corruption

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL DBVIEW, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data
  • Loss of profits or business opportunities
  • Business interruption
  • Damage to computer systems or data

This limitation applies regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability, even if DBView has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Data and Security

You acknowledge that:

  • The Software stores data locally on your device
  • Database credentials may be stored in your system's secure keychain
  • You are responsible for the security of your device and credentials
  • Queries you execute may modify or delete data in connected databases
  • DBView is not responsible for data loss resulting from your queries or actions

Updates and Modifications

DBView may:

  • Release updates, patches, or new versions of the Software
  • Modify or discontinue features at any time
  • Change these Terms of Service with notice provided through the application or website

Continued use of the Software after changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software and deleting all copies.

DBView reserves the right to terminate your license if you violate these Terms of Service.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which DBView operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
